I am asking no pleading for your help to help someone save lives! I want to raise £8000.00 to help someone with one essential part of their career path. They have self funded by taking part time jobs through 3 years of continual training to help save lives but this one part is proving so very hard, please have a read through and if you feel as strongly as I do please please try to help with whatever you can..

In todays society you can get bursaries, grants and even student loans for most things including non essential things such as Hair and Make up, Football Culture, Waste Management with dance! and David Beckham studies - all of these are funded with student loans and available in the UK but there is nothing, NOTHING available for people trying to pay for the driving element qualification of this training (an essential element of this career) that will enable them to drive on lights and sirens which is mandatory in their chosen career enabling them to respond to your calls for help…. But there is NO financial assistance available you must pay yourself to save others…

This qualification is essential for them to be able to actually do the job they have trained years for, and again most of this is self funded and is not funded by any agencies. They have to pay for this themselves… Can you imagine training for your career but having to pay out of your own money for a single element that is essential, critical and as important for your life as well as theirs?

So here I am asking you to please try and help one particular young person in this exact situation. I am not going to name names as they have a strong sense of pride but day in and day out I see the frustration, deep frustration and sometimes resignation that they will not be able to actually achieve their goal to become a front line prehospital clinician which they have studied for, worked sometimes for months without pay, staying up late into the night after a long arduous shift to write up jobs and do reflective practice to make themselves better, to learn more, to improve, in all situations, all weathers, in sometimes horrific situations for which they will need ongoing support and help so they can carry on perfecting and improving their skills to help you….. When you need it, maybe for you but maybe for your wife, husband, your parents or god forbid your child.

When you call you will expect, hope pray and plead that whoever responds gets to you in the quickest time possible and then you will hope and pray that they are able to convey your loved one, friend, colleague or a complete stranger to a place of definitive care quickly and safely.

I find it hard to accept that we don’t provide support and financial assistance yet we expect so much from these responders.

The cost of this course is £5500.00 it is 4 weeks of hard, very hard work coupled with multiple tests, which is mentally and physically draining. During the 4 weeks of this course most including this person cannot work so not only are they not earning any money to pay for day to day living so I am trying to raise £9000.00 so they can do the course and not worry about food bills rent and living and travelling costs they have to find this amount to do this driving course so they can actually safely respond to the job they have trained to do.

Can you imagine having to pay for an essential part of your career, not just one that will help you climb the career ladder but one that is essential to you every single day ?

****When the emergency services respond to your emergency on lights and sirens they put their own risk of a fatal accident up by 90% - now imagine having to go a month without pay and then having to pay almost 5k to be able to do this for you… To save lives, to help when you’re at your most vulnerable physically and emotionally***

So I am asking for your help and support to be able to provide this lifesaving, essential piece of training for someone who by doing this job is willing to put their life on hold and at risk to help you, possibly a complete stranger to them, but they will come out at any hour, in any situation, in any weather, often alone to walk into a situation to help those when they need it most.

If we reach our target any excess will be used to sponsor another person in this situation :)

Please, Please help if you can, no amount is too small and what you will do is help someone to be able to help you when you most need it most, because one day you WILL make that call..
