Story

On February 11th I will be running Barcelona Half Marathon.

I would love to raise money in aid of a cause close to my heart, Gleaning Cornwall (www.gleaningcornwall.org.uk)

I am proud to be part of a large team of volunteers who brave the elements to pick and distribute farm produce (including, apples, squash, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, potatoes, cabbages and many other kinds of healthy fruits and vegetables ) that would, for a variety of reasons, otherwise go to waste. We are united by a passionate belief that no good food should be wasted, particularly in our county where there are such huge discrepancies between those with wealth and those living in poverty and where too many families are unable to access healthy nutritious food, compounding their disadvantage and negatively affecting their children's futures.

Since Gleaning Cornwall started in 2021, 230 tonnes of vegetables have been picked and distributed free to more than 100 amazing food banks, community kitchens and community larders across Cornwall and into Devon. No charge is ever made for this food.

Gleaning Cornwall CIC is a not-for-profit organisation, running on donations and grants. Margins are tight and every penny counts. Any donation, however small or large will make a big difference. Details of how donations are used are available on their website (www.gleaningcornwall.org.uk)

Thanks for helping me to run those 13.2 miles!
