    Story

A year ago we lost a very special member of our family, our 13 year old puppy Sadie. We still love and miss her every day. A couple of weeks later we headed off to Skiathos for the first time. Our friend Wendy told us all about the Skiathos Dog Shelter and recommended that we went to walk a dog whilst we were there.

On the first Sunday we headed up to the shelter and met the lovely Barbara, she told us there were no dogs for us to walk, but asked if we wanted to cuddle a puppy. This was a life changing moment for us. It was love at first sight and Lewis and Hamilton are now an amazing part of our lives and we have met and made friends with many lovely people through the shelter.

Jan and her team do an amazing job saving many dogs and helping them to find fantastic forever homes.

This year I am going to do the Great North Run, and would love to raise some money to help the Shelter in any way possible. I have had many operations over the past 4 years due to Breast Cancer and this is a big challenge for me. My pups, past and present, along with my wonderful family and friends, have been there for me during my many recoveries, and help me to get up and about quickly after each operation.

Please help me to raise funds for an amazing charity that has made an amazing difference to the lives of so many abandoned puppies and also to many human lives too!!!!

Fantastic work Alison, both with your run, adopting the best puppies a mummy could ever have (because the Mummy is awesome too) and your continued help at the shelter. You’re one in a million! 💜
