I've raised £2000 to support The Red Box Project & to raise money for teachers to attend The Venus Awards

In 2009 the Venus Awards Ceremony was created to applaud and reward working women who are so often starved of adequate recognition and workable life-balance.
The vision and mission for Venus is to actively influence a movement of change to a more equitable and inclusive society; not by forcing opinions but by mutual respect and inter-gender collaboration.
We have already presented over 30 ceremonies across 14 regions of the Country with London 2018 to be our 35th.
Alison Kriel has been nominated for a prestigious award for Professional Excellence. we are raising funds to supplement guests of Alison who come from an educational background. Working in education, people are not highly paid and therefore access to corporate events are prohibitively expensive. These guests have supported Alison on her journey and deserve to have the opportunity to attend this event.
We are all contributing but we need to secure theses seats and asking for support to enable that to happen.
In addition, any monies raised over the cost of the tickets for guests will go to a project close to Alison’s heart.
The Red Box Project is a community-based, not-for-profit initiative, which aims to support young women throughout their periods by providing free menstrual protection.
The project is a simple but effective scheme to provide girls with free menstrual products if they cannot, for any reason, access their own. Every school that signs up to the free scheme receives a red box filled with menstrual products donated by the community to be kept by an appropriate member of staff. Pupils can access this box at any time and take from what they need - providing them with the reassurance that they will be protected throughout their menstrual cycle. When the box needs to be replenished, we do so quickly (and for free, of course!). We pride ourselves on being completely reliable, so that pupils who use the red boxes don't need to worry about whether they will be protected for their next period - or the next or the next.
The project relies on the generosity and support of our community, as the red boxes are filled with menstrual products that have been donated. To enable this, therefore, we have collection points in appropriate places locally for our community to donate (much like a food bank) and we ask local groups to consider organising occasional “drives” to collect donations from their members/participants.
No tearful panics in the loo. No wadded up toilet roll. No missed lessons or staying at home. No anxious embarrassment.
We believe that all women should be provided with the assurances that having their period is completely normal and that the comfort that menstrual protection provides is vital.
A simple scheme, made with love for the young women in our community.
Education matters. Dignity matters. Kindness matters.
