Weʼve raised £180 to help a family visit a very poorly family member
- Funded on Friday, 10th March 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Steve carpenter one of the friendliest ukulele players I have met went on a late gap year holiday to Thailand and Burma. Backpacking on his own unfortunately he has fallen very ill with a heart attack, collapsed lung and blood clots threatening his life.
Steve is stuck in a hospital that is ill equipped to deal with any of his conditions. The Red Cross are transferring him to a hospital over 300 miles away in the hope that they will be better equipped.
Luckily Steve did take out personal travel insurance and is covered fully, however he is alone and very very poorly in a distant country and for a family member to be able to be with him at this uncertain time is all that can be asked.
I would therefore ask to help them in this circumstance to donate any money you can to help his son and partner travel to be by his side
The aim is to raise enough to cover 2 return flights and a weeks accommodation
Any money that is raise above the amount needed will be donated to the Red Cross, as they are the ones that are taking him by track road on this 300 mile journey. Without them steve would certainly not be moved and therefore not improve
Please help if you can

7 years agoSteve is off the critical list. He now has a companion with him from the insurance company which is great news! It looks like he will have surgery to repair lung and then when he's well enough then he will fly home All monies received that are not used will be donated to the Red Cross that helped steve so much
