Story

We are a grassroots, citizen-led group working to raise awareness and share accurate, compassionate information about Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED) - a legal choice for adults with mental capacity who choose to hasten death by stopping eating and drinking.

Although VSED is lawful in the UK, it remains poorly understood and inconsistently supported. People are left navigating this choice without clear information or guidance. Our work exists to change that. We will continue to share clear, evidence-based information, amplify the voices of people with lived experience, and advocate for national guidance to better support individuals, those important to them, caregivers, and health and social care professionals.

Over the past year, we have delivered online and face-to-face information sessions, engaged with community groups and professionals, and developed a dedicated website as a publicly accessible resource.

Our work is entirely volunteer-led, but it is not cost-free. Donations help cover essential costs such as venue hire for awareness sessions, travel to events and conferences, and outreach to health and social care professionals. Funding also supports the ongoing development of accessible, reliable online resources.

Every donation helps us continue this work with care, integrity, and compassion. Thank you
