Iʼve raised £880 to Support Edinburgh Remakery's Laptops for Refugees Project
- Edinburgh, United Kingdom
- Funded on Saturday, 30th September 2017
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
Edinburgh has a growing community of refugees through the city's involvement with formal Government dispersal programmes as well as refugees outside those programmes deciding Edinburgh is somewhere they would like to live.
They generally arrive in Edinburgh with very little and in our modern digitised world, a computer is vital in helping a refugee settle in an unfamiliar society, learn a new language and maintain contact with family in other countries.
Edinburgh Remakery runs a scheme re-conditioning unwanted laptops. Although the laptops are donated, they can cost the organisation up to £150 per computer to re-condition and I'd like to raise money to support that part of the scheme. Thank you for your help in doing that.
And if you have a laptop you no longer need, the Remakery will happily take that too - you can find out more about them at http://www.edinburghremakery.org.uk/
