While traveling in central Portugal, we saw a great amount of animals that have been abandoned and mistreated by their owners. Many of the owners also keep their dogs chained up all their lives, and these poor animals sometimes are chained in the extreme heat, with no food or water nearby. Violence is not uncommon and unfortunately hundreds of animals end up being thrown out and in many cases also injured.

We have bought a small farmland and are now in the process of building fences, and houses for these animals, so they can have a decent life. We have also partnered with another rescue organization called EARS (Estrela Animal Rescue and Sanctuary) who also take as many dogs as they can, but are struggling to provide a secure area for them, due to the lack of funds.

Many pets in Portugal are also thrown out or put in kennels because they are considered to be too boisterous, or aggressive, not to mention the ones who are thrown out when they are sick and need us most, so we intend to go further than just rescuing and saving animals. We will train and rehabilitate them so that they can go to good forever homes.

We leave no animal behind. So please help us achieve this goal and build a place where they can be free and loved.
