Weʼre raising £2,500 to Start a project that helps homeless women, and those on low incomes in Derbyshire & South Sheffield who are experiencing period poverty.
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
There's lots in the media surrounding period poverty in young women, and women abroad. However what seems to be forgotten is that those on low incomes, and those that are homeless continue to have periods. Some find that they are going without food in order to have menstrual products, or going without period products to feed their families. This can be very humiliating to any woman.
I am looking to start off with my local community, and broaden over a period of time. I would like to supply food banks, shelters and other accessible community areas with boxes (just like the ones in schools) that any woman can take what she needs for that month. I would also need to arrange drop off points and collection boxes.
