Story

Our local community of Alloa has been the victim of so much loss over recent years - a loss of industry and a loss of opportunities, our 'loss' has been a main theme - but local people are a passionate bunch! We care about our community, and we are trying to create the Carsebridge Cultural Campus, a hub for all people, inclusive, kind and innovative, led by people for people.

We want an inspiring space for isolated adults to come together and build friendships; we want a wonderful garden for children to build dens and enjoy being children; we want a place for young people to be excited by life, and create their next steps, supported by a confident community.

We already offer many activities for all ages, including weekly - knitting and crochet club, fine art painting, sewing, DIY club, gardening, meditation, strength and balancing club, walking club and several more. Through creative activity we enable people to grow, thrive and replace the loss that is felt, with having purpose.

Our Team of four, Mary, Michelle, Rosalyn and Angela, are doing the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2023 and raising money for our 'healing hub' activity by walking 23 miles! We need to raise £7.5k - so this sponsored walk is one of the many activities we will all be doing in the coming months.

We know times are very hard for everyone, we know every penny counts and yet we have to push on, for we cannot just sit an do nothing - if you can support us in our efforts to create this community healing haven in Alloa, then know we are all working so very hard to make it happen!

Thank you from Team #AlloaAngels (we picked angels, so we can wear wings, hoping they will help us fly to the finish line!)
