I'm raising £1000 to Clean up All saints church following vandalism

Story

On Sunday 27th April, All Saints' Church, Clayton West was subject to an act of vandalism, where a group of youths came into the church building and set off fire extinguishers all over church, covering the interior in white powder. The extent of the damage is such that professional cleaners are required to ensure that the premises can be safely opened back up to the public. It is also unclear at this time of the organ is damaged.

We are seeking funding to help cover the cost of the insurance excess and to install security cameras, which will allow us to keep our 'open church' policy going forwards.

All Saints' Church has been a cornerstone of our community for 150 years. It has been open during daylight hours for more than 35 years and is one of the only churches within a 10-mile radius to do so. Last year we experienced minor vandalism and despite knowing the young people involved, decided not to take further action, attributing it to boredom and pranks. However, this recent incident is on another level. Whoever set off the two fire extinguishers must have walked around the whole church building spraying the powder around.

We deeply regret that this incident has disrupted many cherished community activities planned for this week, including Pop-in-Café, Clayton West Chorus, Stage Door, and the Toddler group. This will affect many people in our community, not just the church community.
