I've raised £200 to Restore All Saints' Parish Church

All Saints’ Needs You!
All Saints' Parish Church is a Grade I listed building situated at the heart of Houghton Regis; in the centre of what used to be the old village. The present building dates from 14th Century. But the parish church is one of the very few in Bedfordshire to be mentioned in Doomsday Book (AD 1086). King Henry I gave Houghton Regis to Robert Earl of Gloucester and his son William granted the parish church to St Albans Abbey in 1153.
The restoration and renewal scheme the parish has adopted in order to restore, preserve, and enhance All Saints’ church inevitably requires a considerable financial commitment. The estimate for the works is in the excess of £400,000, which would cover
Urgent and critical repairs mainly to the outer fabric of the building;
The creation of a Heritage and Community space at the back of the building to facilitate wider and more flexible use of the building;
Redevelopment of facilities and meeting areas to improve disabled access;
Redevelopment of Vestries and Servery;
Reopening of the West Door onto Bedford Road.
We do not receive financial support from the government nor from the Church of England. We rely entirely on the great generosity of our town and congregation, and on the invaluable efforts of all our volunteers.
With your help, we can restore this magnificent building, preserve its spiritual and historical heritage for future generations, and make more accessible for everyone.
We thank you all for your donations.
