Story
Aoife Thomas has endured more in her two years of life than most do in a lifetime. She has fought and overcome many barriers, surprising and baffling Doctors around the UK and further whilst they try to work out exactly why she has Cerebral Palsy.
CP is an umbrella diagnosis for brain damage that causes muscular problems, it has varying degrees dependant on the area of brain damage and extent of it. Aoife has quadriplegic CP, all four limbs are affected and her core/head control. Daily life is a struggle to gain more control whilst keeping her limbs loose enough to use for simple activities, like holding a spoon.
As part of her ongoing therapies and adaptations, we have been raising enough money to fund a special assisted bath as part of our home adaptations. Along with this, we hope to continue raising funds for future therapy and equipment as most pieces of equipment are subject to funding, which usually decreases as a child grows.
