I've raised £4000 to Kickstart a charity giving better life chances for young people with Autism by helping them into work

Young people with Autism are considerably less likely than people with other disabilities to have an occupation. Yet the huge majority want to work and can be excellent employees.
We will provide accommodation and care support for young people with Autism - initially in Somerset but with the ambition to spread through the UK.
The loving and safe home will be the base for people to secure work in the local community which we will facilitate with - for example transport or links to business. We are partnered with local charity The Hub who will also provide opportunities for our people.
The charity is inspired by the many brilliant students of Lufton College all of whom have found confidence and greater self-worth thanks to the opportunities to work provided in their full time education.
Education provision comes to an end at 25 and we will be there to catch as many people as we can and make sure they have continuity in their personal development.
The opportunities provided by Lufton should be available to everyone with ASD challenges and should be available throughout their working lives.
As it is, if you have Autism you have a greater than average chance of having nothing to do all day and miss out on all of the benefits a job brings.
Here's our inspiration - Lucy's life has been transformed by having access to meaningful access to work.
