Weʼve raised £1,764 to increase the biodiversity, wildlife and air quality currently seen in the city of Chester.

    Chester, United Kingdom
Funded on Thursday, 31st August 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

We are raising money to help improve the bio-diversity, wildlife and air quality currently present within the City of Chester. The core of the fund raising will be to build a steel structure that allows various climbing plants to thrive within the city, increasing the plant diversity and by proxy increasing the animal diversity. The proposed structure will in many ways resemble a tree, constructed from a lattice work of steel that branches out at the top.

The proposal outlined above is simply intended to be a direction or a compass point towards an end goal of improving Chester’s biodiversity, wildlife and air quality. The connection between humanity and the natural world has in many ways been lost especially within cities; yet it is on this connection that humanity and all wildlife depend. It is surely our responsibility to do everything within our power to ensure that we provide a home, not only for humanity but for the whole of the natural world.

This was my set up before people arrived last night at Transition Chester's Ceilidh. It was great talking to people and seeing their generosity with donations. Also great speaking to the Secretary of Chester's GreenParty, fingers crossed we can come together over this project.
