Story

With the school building closed to most students, our fabulous Design Department have turned our idle laser cutter to good use - making protective visors and ear protectors for workers on the frontline!

We have so far made and donated nearly 2000 visors and over 4500 ear savers to 78 different places, from NHS sites and care homes to individuals working on the front line.

So far, the money for materials has come the department's own small contingency budget (which has now been used up) and a generous donation from author Margaret Foster, who donated money from the proceeds of her book, "Mudlarkers: Memories of Earning a Few Bob in Portsea".

As we have had a lot of people express an interest in donating towards the cost of materials, we have set this page up for anyone that would like to contribute.

We have put £300 as a starting target as this is how much has been spent on materials so far, so we thought that would be a good starting target for getting in additional material.

When everything has gone back to normal (and it will eventually!) we will donate any leftover/unspent money to an NHS charity to ensure your donations still go to support them 😊
