*UPDATE*
I've been advised by some drone experts, that the GoPro Karma is having some issues and is currently unavailable, but they've reccomended the DJI MAVIC as a better alternative... unfortunatley it's about £250 more expensive though, so I've updated the target, and hopefully we can smash the new target, like we smashed the original one! If we can't reach that target, then there is a cheaper one, but not as good

Our good friend Dave has spent the last year of his life and thousands of pounds designing, building and programming a home-made drone so that he could set out on an adventure to start a new life as an aerial photographer.

His plan; to travel to far away places to film things we've never seen before from angles only achievable with a flying camera.

On Wednesday 23rd Nov, only a few weeks into his expedition, Dave's homemade drone was lost forever. Whilst shooting some footage in Thailand, the drone, which had been working perfectly all day, took a funny turn and crashed into the sea. Despite Dave's work to ensure the drone was fully waterproof, the location where it crashed was too deep to recover.

Although we cant replace Dave's drone and the hours of work he put into making it, we can help him to achieve his mission whilst he's out there.

GoPro are soon to release their flagship product; the GoPro Karma - a top of the range drone with built-in camera. They announced it shortly after Dave completed building his drone and he was somewhat miffed that "it can do everything mine can do, and more, for less than half the price"... so why don't we all pitch in whatever we can afford, to get him back up and flying again with a GoPro Karma?

Dave is the kinda guy that would travel to the moon and back to help a friend in need, so lets show him what he means to us!
