Story

We are reaching out to ask for your support for Alun Thomas, a hardworking farmer from just outside Bangor, North Wales.

In July 2023, Alun suffered a terrible farm accident while moving cattle for TB testing. His tibia and fibula were forced out of his leg, and he spent six weeks in The Royal Stoke hospital receiving urgent care. Over the last two and a half years, he has undergone nine surgeries and battled repeated infections.

Sadly, despite all the efforts of his medical team, the damage is too severe, and Alun will undergo a leg amputation on 1st December. This will be a life-changing procedure, and the road ahead will require strength, courage, and support.

Alun continues to manage his 240-acre farm, which is both his livelihood and his passion. After his surgery, he will need assistance to continue working safely and to regain his independence once he receives his prosthetic leg.

We have created this page to help with:

• Farm support during recovery

• Equipment and adaptations for safe work

• Travel and medical costs

• Anything else that will help Alun rebuild his independence

Any donation, big or small, will make a huge difference. Even sharing this page with friends, family, or colleagues will help Alun enormously.

Thank you so much for your support.

Diolch o galon.
