Story
Lainesmead Primary School and Nursery is a two form entry school with children from 3-11 years of age, situated in the heart of Swindon Town centre. Lainesmead is a very special place to go to school. We know this because the children themselves tell us each and every day. In fact, in their own words, it is “Like a big family!” and “Everyone is kind, friendly and supportive.” It is a busy, happy school with an atmosphere which enables the children to be highly engaged in their learning, allowing the children to be the best they can be.
Educating over 430 children, we have high numbers of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Unfortunately, due to government budget cuts, last year we lost £80,000 and had to make several redundancies. This year, our dire finical situation has continued this year and we are having to make further cut backs.
We had been really hoping to be able to purchase a set of 15 Ipads for the children to use to enhance their learning – not only in computing but in many subjects across the curriculum. As this is something we cannot do ourselves, we are really hoping that you can help!
