Story
As-salamu alaykum,
On 3rd April 2018, Amaan was tragically taken away from us. Amaan left home around 9pm to see his friends outside Kelmscott Leisure Centre. He was approached by two hooded boys who shot him. He suffered injuries to the head and passed away around 5:46pm on 3rd April 2018.
As a family we have suffered a huge loss, we hope and pray to Allah that he is in a better place now. When someone passes away we recite,
'Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un'. This is a part of a verse from the Qur'an which translates to "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return."
We are taking one day at a time remembering Amaan through all the beautiful moments we shared with him over the past 16 years.
We are raising money for various charities in memory of Amaan and will be donating all funds on his behalf which will continue to benefit him.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."
The funds will be going towards:
- Building a water well/handpump
- Food packs
- Planting olive/fruit trees
and various other emergency appeals.
Thank you all for your prayers and comforting words during this very testing time for our family. We are overwhelmed with the love you have all shown us.
May Allah reward you all.
Mohammed Shakoor (Father of Amaan Shakoor)
