    Story

    AMALIA'S BIG HEART ❤️

This is a hard post to write, and it's taken over 2months to decide to do it.
There are moments in life you will never forget, when our daughter Amalia was born 25/2/17 she was a beautiful healthy baby, the first time I held her and she came to feed instantly, when we took her home, and sadly I will never forget the moment the doctor told me "your baby might die".

At 2months old out of the blue, Amalia suffered a severe heart attack right in front of us. Once Amalia was stable enough we were taken in an ambulance from Brighton hospital to the Evelina London children's hospital, where Amalia stayed in intensive care and we stayed in the Ronald McDonald house. Amazingly only 3weeks later we were able to take our beautiful daughter home, currently we have to manage her medication at home and have regular hospital appointments.

She has been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy a form of heart disease causing heart failure.
This condition is very rare only 1 in 100,000 children are diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy, and only 30% will survive the first year. Life for her will not be easy.
(These figures have come from my research, I'm not an expert).

As this condition in children is so rare not much research has been done and there is no cure, please raise awareness and help fund research so our little girl has a chance of surviving and living a normal life.

Money raised will go to www.cardiomyopathy.org
Thank you for reading and sharing.

I have recently become a mum for the first time to a beautiful little girl, she is extremely ill and every day I worry I might lose her. That's why I want to raise money for charity, to help towards funding research.
