    Story

I am raising money for my great grandson Ted, I will be doing a abseil down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on the 21st July.

We are trying to get help to raise £17,000 in order to purchase our great grandson, Ted, a dual controlled powered wheelchair from Smart Wheelchairs (The Karma Kameloen ).

Our great grandson, Ted, was born in 2011 with complex needs due to a very rare genetic condition called 'Aicardi Goutières syndrome' he is one of six known children to have the type of gene mutation and gene affected in this condition. He has many complex disabilities and as a result requires full-time care and specialist equipment to support him. Despite teds disabilities he is a very determined and bright child. Ted attends Treloar school in Alton, Hampshire.

Amber and Arthur have had an assessment at home and with Treloar’s staff for this powered chair. Everyone agrees that this would be a great chair for Ted! It will enable him to have the level of independence he is desperate for and become more interactive with his family and peers.

The power chair we are fundraising for will give Ted a new level of independence that he deserves and will change his daily life completely. He is a very cheeky chap who loves to joke around like any other 7-year-old boy. He is desperate for this next step but we can’t achieve it for him without the help of others!

    -Some information about the chair-

    Karma Kameloen

The New Karma Kameleon powerchair has plenty of options to suit most child’s needs and is small and maneuverable and comes with 2 size seating options 25kg and 60kg, Electrical height adjustment of 300mm which comes as standard, Electric seat angle adjustment 50˚, Speeds 6/10/12.5 kph, R-Net Control, Cool child friendly colours or you can choose your own custom colour.

The powered high/low setting makes it possible for children to sit at a table or desk and interact with their friends at the same height.

The practical luggage cart (standard) offers space for games or a school bag. Through the numerous accessories, the Kameleon is unique for each child!
