    Life-Threatening Diagnosis

Following a recent diagnosis of Endometrium Carcinoma grade II - which is life threatening - Amanda received surgery in June 2022 for full hysterectomy and removal of left ovary (right previously removed in 2016) in addition the lymphatic glands around the womb also were removed after showing as enlarged and an MRI was recommended. This has to be paid for privately. Thanks to the many generous donors 40% of the costs have now been covered. If you can contribute towards the fund please do so as there is still a shortfall.

Based on CT Scans and histology of the removed womb, ovary and glands it will be determined if the cancer has spread, if radition or chemotherapy will be employed or if further surgery will be required.

She is currently recovering and awaiting the outcome to see if further treatment is required.

Support will be required ongoing to make sure Amanda can regain her health and be VICTORIOUS in the loving and self care journey against cancer.

She says she is lovingly caring for herself and body and every cell will cooperate and return to normalcy. Amanda does require assistance financially since she has been on bed rest since December 1st 2021 when the uncontrollable bleeding and pain began after a longer history of endometriosis.

We still are unsure what meds or treatments would be available for radiation and chemotherapy as sometimes patients are forced to buy these life saving medicines to have care in a timely fashion... especially with delays in receiving sea freight cargo post covid.

By purchasing directly and having it brought in via express courier etc, the shipping of bulk goods and meds have been affected worldwide in this new post pandemic world.

We are keeping the fund raiser going to assist Amanda to meet her ongoing financial commitments and her personal needs during her time of medical care and post op recuperation.

    First posted Feb 8th 22:

Amanda is suffering due to lack of access to healthcare. She runs an indigenous heritage and ecological centre in Trinidad and has been suffering in severe pain for several months.

Her condition has just been identified as cancer and she needs urgent surgery.

The situation in Trinidad due to the pandemic is that the medical services are not fully functioning and private care is an essential part of Amanda's chance to receive treatment quickly and safely.

Her organisation has been struggling to work through the covid crisis as there has been a dramatic loss of income.

This appeal is to get the medical suport Amanda urgently needs to stop bleeding and treat the serious and debilitating condition and restore her health.

Our Heritage Learning Resource Centre, Nature Park and Animal Sanctuary is the Santa Rosa Heights, Arima site on which the Foundation currently operates. There are several outreach programmes serving the community in a myriad of ways via a Food and Pet Supplies Pantry, Social Entrepreneurship, Upcycling & Recycling programs. The Animal & Wildlife Divisions provide support for Domestic, Exotic and Wildlife rehabilitation and Conservation programmes including breeding of critically endangered species of turtles and tortoises sacred to her people, the Indigenous First Peoples of Trinidad.

Families who access food hampers and support also have the opportunity to gain some food independence by receiving planting materials. Via Kairi Seed harvest, seed bank and propagation programme. We share our indigenous methodology of companion planting.

Amanda was educated at the renowned girl’s school Roedean in Brighton, UK. From this early age she had the opportunity to express her creative and entrepreneurial talents, with powerful performances in theatrical productions, and social contributions through the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Her sporting achievements included award-winning performance in fencing.

Since then Amanda has built 30+ years experience in business, administration and innovative entrepreneurship.

She also served as the Honorary Cultural Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.

Prior to the pandemic Amanda was running a successful Consultancy handling Expatriate Administration and Immigration matters for a portfolio of local Regional and International elite clients. Amanda's condition is extremely serious at this time and she has no further avenues to fund the treatment she needs. She has dedicated her life to caring for her community and the animals and plant life of Trinidad and we want to see her thriving and cared for. Amanda has worked so hard throughout the pandemic despite her health issues and supplied food hampers and other essential supplies to the overlooked communities in Trinidad.
