Story
J was born in 2006, number 5 of six children ( 20 years between our eldest and youngest, 3 daughters and 3 sons). From an early age, J always displayed some unusual behaviours which we just accepted as being part of his unique personality. However, the older he got the more difficult these behaviours became to manage and the greater the impact on our family. At the age of 5 J was first referred to Camhs. He was assessed, referred, to a paediatrician and discharged without diagnosis.
Js behaviour continued to become more extreme and often distressing for others, having a huge impact on family life. He was again referred to Camhs at the age of 7. He underwent a significant period of engagement which again ceased without diagnosis
By spring 2016 Js behaviour had become extreme on many levels. He constantly displayed erratic behaviour, was violent and aggressive, had very rigid thinking, was controlling, school refusal was a massive issue...... just a few of the issues.
