    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

A run a day in October 2018 for domestic violence/abuse awareness month

I've decided to find my running mojo by running every day in October; and raise some much needed money for a good cause. Seeing as its Domestic violence awareness month, I intend to run everyday without fail, hopefully with various different people throughout the month. I'll vlog/blog/tweet/insta/post my daily progression. My goal is to run 100km. This is the start of my training for various big challenges next year. I'd be chuffed if you could support me and these fabulous charities.

Domestic violence is the systematic pattern of behaviour on the part of the abuser designed to control his partner.

The abuse can be physical, emotional, psychological, financial or sexual. Anyone forced to alter their behaviour because they are frightened of their partner’s reaction is being abused. It can begin at any stage of the relationship. Domestic violence is rarely a one-off. Incidents generally become more frequent and severe over time.

Domestic violence can happen to anyone, regardless of age, social background, gender, religion, sexuality or ethnicity. Whilst domestic violence happens in all relationships (heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender), statistics show the vast majority of domestic violence incidents are carried out by men and experienced by women.

Domestic violence is a crime. We all have a role to play in bringing domestic violence to an end.

    (Refuge, 2017)

see information here about domestic abuse/violence

The reason I am using a crowd funding page, and not the donation page is, that I have chosen to share the donations between 5 charities. these are:

Woman's Aid - working together until women and children are safe.

Refuge - for women and children. against domestic violence.

Rising Sun - domestic violence and abuse service for women and children in kent.

Mankind Initiative - helping men escape domestic abuse

Men's Advice Line - advice and support for men experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

BTW, when I say run, I actually mean shuffle :)
