Story

Hi,

As many of you will be aware my Dad, Jimmy Kay, passed away on 23rd April 2020 aged 66.

He was a loving husband to Nan, hard working father to me and doting Papa to my wee girl Perrie who was the absolute light of his life. He was also someone who would have done anything he could have to help his friends.

His passing has made a massive hole in our lives that we will never be able to fill.

My dads funeral will take place on Thursday 7th May 2020 at Holmsford Crematorium however due to the lockdown restrictions that are currently in place, unfortunately, only a small number of close family will be allowed to attend. This saddens us as it feels like we can’t give him the send off he really deserves. We will look to hold some kind of memorial type tea/drink/buffet after lockdown restrictions have been removed which will allow people to come and pay their respects and remember my dad.

Anyone who knew my dad will know he took a stroke in 2000. He attended and volunteered at a support group in Cumnock every fortnight which allowed stroke survivors to socialise with people who knew what others have been through and ultimately support one another.

My mum, Perrie and myself would therefore greatly appreciate that if anyone who was thinking of sending flowers to us or for my dad would maybe donate the money they would have spent to this fantastic local cause instead. I will personally deliver this to them when their group is back up and running.

In loving memory of Jimmy Kay. A loving husband, fantastic father, amazing papa and great friend.
