In the name Katie's Haven, in memory of our baby Katie we're makeing baby memory boxes to donate to hospitals and maternity units. They are in 3 sizes and the contents are gestation appropriate. We are also making baby funeral blankets and wraps. Some of the items that go into the biggest box from 24 weeks plus are *a nappy if parents would like to put a nappy on their baby *brush set *a box to store a wisp of baby's hair *inkless hand and footprint wipe and special paper *mini bottle of baby wash if parents would like to wash baby *a candle *2 teddies one for parents to keep and one for baby *a knitted blanket *2 charms one to go with baby and one to stay with parents And 9 other items. There is a shortage of the boxes in some areas and it means mummies and daddies are leaving without a box and no size appropriate clothes etc for their angel babies so we want to make sure every mummy and daddy has access to a memory box to help make memories with their little one and clothes, blankets and wraps in appropriate sizes for their angel baby should they need them. I could not get clothes small enough to fit my little one and we want to be able to offer items to even the smallest babies. The smallest memory boxes would cost £5 each to make and put together and the 2 bigger sizes will cost about £10 each to make and put together. Myself and two others are knitting blankets and teddies ourselves in our own time, Using our own money. We have made a few cribs for babies up to 16 weeks gestation and were going to be making larger ones soon. We hope if we can raise some money we can offer more boxes with more items inside, more items for baby and other help including a befriender and a help line but if we receive no donations as we can't afford to fund this out of our own pockets anymore we will no longer be able to keep our work going. So even just 30p each would help to buy a candle to go in the box or a pair of charms.
Thanks for your time
