Story
On the 20th January I woke feeling pretty unwell but with two small children aged 2 and 3 you solider on. Well little did I know that 2 hours later my soldiering days were over. Since 6.30am that morning (January 20th 2016 - a week after my daughters 2nd birthday!) I have been unable to move my legs and I'm completely wheelchair bound. I'm unable to weight bear, stand lift or move, in fact I have lost the entire ability to move both my legs from the waist down. From that day on I was in 2 separate hospitals (back and forth) for 6 months and 3 weeks in an elderly dementia care home!
I am 34 years of age, married and have two beautiful children. Spending all that time away from them broke me. Never had I been apart from them before. It hurt and still does. I have missed so much and I'll never get that back, I missed my little girl starting pre-school for the very first time & my son riding his bike for the first time.
I have no diagnosis and the vast array of tests have shown to be inconclusive.
We live in a house (well did) it has stairs, small doorways & rooms and no access for wheelchairs, so I haven't been able to return to our family home. Now we are in a bungalow that is not ours and isn't equipped/adapted, has no wider doorways, no lowered kitchen work tops, no wet room the only difference is that this place is on one level and I can just about access the rooms but not in the right wheelchair.
We need our own home adapted. I need to be back with my family and in our home but with adaptations to fit, suit and ones that allow me to become a mother and wife again. I want to be able to look after myself as well as my family. To bath them again with ease, put them to bed without any access problems or pain from manoeuvring around a carpeted place, to cook them a family meal without complications and to allow my husband to return back to work.
Even with the funding that we are entitled to we do not have enough for all the adaptions and changes needed.

I have set up this page for my amazing, strong and brave friend Amanda. To try and help Amanda and her family get back into their family home and start to piece their family life back together. If you are able to donate even a small amount I know they will be forever grateful.
