Story

In August, I will be walking the West Highland Way (with my wee dog) to raise money for two chosen charities, in memory of our friend Craig. The money raised will be shared between the Scottish Pulmonary Vascular Unit (SPVU) and the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH). I have chosen to donate to SPVU as this unit, located within the Golden Jubilee provided Craig with tremendous support throughout his life. I have chosen SAMH as he was always a great supporter of services which provided assitance to people with mental health problems, as he too had his own personal struggles and helped many friends through times they have suffered.

The donations received for SPVU will help to fund research and help others who require the support and advice from these services. The donations to SAMH will help to support over 60 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, homelessness, addictions and employment services, among others.

Craig was an inspiration. The courage and “can do“ attitude that he had towards life was something to admire. We should all try to be a little bit more like Craig, which is why I am giving myself this challenge. I hope that you can all support me in raising money for two amazing services.

I know that he will be with me every step of the way. 💙
