It's been just over a month since we started using the Libre blood glucose system with Jacob. This is as a result of kind donations from family, friends and work colleagues.

The Libre allows us to test Jacob's blood glucose levels without having to extract blood from his fingers. You simply wave the scanner over the sensor which is placed on the upper arm.

We've been able to check his blood glucose much more often, thus we have been able to take more control of his diabetes and also pick up trends. We have been able to deal with highs or lows before they become more serious.

During trips out and in the night we can test Jacob without disrupting or waking him. This means Jacob is getting more sleep.
