Story
As most people seeing this will know on 21/03/2019 our beloved wife and mother passed away after a 10 year long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
During this ten years fight she was treated in the Kent and Canterbury Cathedral Day Unit, by absolutely incredible nurses and doctors. It is without doubt that she was given the chance to enjoy her life for as long as possible due to the support and care from all staff on the unit.
Amanda was always open about how grateful she was for her care on Cathedral Day Unit and we know she would be very happy that instead of flowers at her funeral from extended family and friends we are asking for donations In order to fund a chemotherapy nurse to complete the SACT course at university. This in turn will ensure the treatment of future cancer patients on the ward can be enhanced and ultimately the lives of others under going cancer treatments can be saved/extended.
We ask that you donate whatever you can afford as ALL money raised goes directly to the ward sisters to put toward the cost of the training.
We will close the funding page on 18/06/2019, Amandas birthday, and all money collated and given to the ward.
Many thanks and all our love
Dave, Ellie and Charlie

4 years agoApologies for radio silence for so long. This is just an update to say that on Friday 25th October, Dave went to the Cathedral Day Ward in Kent and Canterbury Hospital to deliver a cheque for the money raised in memory of Mandy. Altogether we raised a whopping £2300!!! We are overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and kindness and as a family would like to thank everyone that donated to this wonderful cause in Mandys name. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts. Much love from Dave, Ellie and Charlie and the rest of our family xx

4 years agoWow our minds have been blown with everyone’s generosity. I have now withdrawn the funds (it takes a week or so to be processed) once we have organised a cheque with the total donated (we’ve had some donations in cheque and cash form too) I will post an update with the full amount raised. We can’t wait to give the money to the ward to help fund the live saving care they provide on a daily basis. Thankyou everyone I know mum would be so proud! Much love Dave, Ellie and Charlie xx

4 years agoWow! Incredibly after only a few days we are already at the target set! Thankyou all so much, we would love now to see how far we can smash through this target and maybe even be able to train multiple nurses! I won’t set a new target but let’s see how far we can get! Sending all our love Dave, Ellie and Charlie xx
