Story

I work for Rutherglen Community Carers we're a charity that provide a Befriending service and support/activity groups for people and their families living with Dementia and Alzheimer's.The groups are run from our office premises but our toilet facilities are in desperate need of upgrading to disabled standards for the comfort and safety of our service users. As we are a charity every penny we have goes into maintaining these vital services for all the families that use us and the wider community that contact us on a daily basis looking for help and advice.
So....I'm trying to raise some money towards the cost of the refurbished by doing a sponsored 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️
I'm swimming the equivalent of the English Channel which is 22 miles ( 66 lengths per mile) in 22 days at my local pool.😓💪🤞 I'm fairly new to the world of swimming, I couldn't swim a width never mind put my face in the water, so I decided to take some lessons a couple of years ago so I could swim with my kids. I now swim 3 times a week, doing between 30/40 lengths...depending on how much puff I have in me!!🤪....so this really is a challenge for me!😜
I started my 🏊‍♀️ on Monday 15th April and hope to finish by mid May If all goes to plan and I don't die first trying!!🤪
Here's where YOU come in!! If you could spare a £ or 2 and help make this dream a reality for me l would be eternally grateful to you! 😍
Every penny would make such a difference!!
I'll keep you posted on my progress.
