Story

The youth is finding it hard to speak about depression and anxiety because we have normalised the feeling of being sad.

I want to create a platform where it is easier to express yourself. I have thought about various ways of how we can have a completely different approach to the issue. People aren't being creative or innovative with the responses to the current mental health crisis.

We need to understand that everyone is different and we can't treat everyone the same way. Some people prefer to speak to someone, some people prefer to write how they feel through poetry, short stories, lyrics, others may even want to sing. I believe it would be more effective for people to have a place they can go to and express themselves in different ways.

If someone wants to be listened to, then they'll have someone to listen to them. If others want to be offered solutions to certain problems, will be offered solutions.

The goal is to create a place where people feel comfortable to walk in to and talk about or express their feelings.

There are many problems I think are not being approached properly. For example, bullying is still an issue across all schools. Instead of the cycle of telling a teacher, getting called a snitch, to being bullied outside of school where teachers can't do much. Wouldn't it be easier to educate kids about bullying and how to tackle it? And teach students self love so that people don't affect their self esteem.

Remember, no matter how big or small the amount you decide to give, it will be highly appreciated!! :)
