My name is Amber, I am 15 years old and I have been given the opportunity to visit Cambodia on a 4 week expedition. We are going to spend four weeks traveling to 3 different locations in Cambodia and we will be helping the communities nearby whilst staying in rural camps learning the Cambodian way of life. We will be helping with building projects and also teaching the children English, as only 20% of the children there have a chance of getting an education, which we want to help to improve by building new schools for the children. Whilst I am there I am hoping to make a difference to the lives of the Cambodian people, but i would also like to make a difference towards my own, developing life skills and creating memories. A 1/3 of the population live below the poverty line, meaning some families live on around only 60p a day. I am asking for help with my fundraising, so we will be able to go to Cambodia and have this number decrease and for the people to have a better environment. better education and a better life. Over the next 12 months I will be taking part in all different fundraising events to raise the money needed. This will include car boot sales, runs, cake sales and some group fundraisers.
