£1,142raised of £1,000 target by 38 supporters

Weʼve raised £1,142 to bring the Ambre Beach dogs to the UK to find their forever homes.

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

I am fundraising to raise money to bring the Ambre beach dogs back to the UK as it is no longer safe for them to live freely in Mauritius. Unfortunately; due to the huge dog population in the country, the government are catching and having the dogs put down. These animals deserve so much more than this and any donation big or small would be greatly received!

This is my personal account from my stay in Mauritius: My boyfriend and I stayed at the Ambre from 18th June-2nd July 2018 and fell in love with the dogs from the day we arrived. We gave them their own names and would always be on look out to see where they were. They were never very far away and as soon as they we called they would be sure to turn up, tail wagging at your sun lounger! We fed them regularly and for this they seemed very grateful. We could not believe how well mannered they were! Not once did they snatch or beg, they just waited patiently and sometimes even sat! The dogs didn't have the best time at the hotel as there were a lot of people who weren't kind to them and we witnessed the way that they were treated by some members of staff that made us deeply angry but despite this, they were still so loyal to us and often came over for a cuddle. We loved how the animals would remember us, greet us and sunbathe for most of the day next to us but this also hurt when it came to say goodbye and the animals were waiting for us in the reception at 4:30am ready for our departure because we knew that we were unable to protect them. There were so many other guests who had a similar experience to us and it was really nice to see these animals being loved by so many people!

A couple of the dogs have already been adopted and will be going to their new homes in the UK and this is with huge thanks to Lisa Kendrick and her team from PAWS Care and Rescue UK but the dogs who remain (pictured below) still need homes, which is why it is so important that we come together to raise the funds to get them home. I can not express how loving these dogs are. They will make devoted, loyal companions.
