The winter months and Christmas period is a time of extreme high need for Bassetlaw Foodbank. Amelia has been supporting our local food banks for the last year. Last year she went out street performing it was cold and wet so this year she is putting on two concerts to raise funds for the foodbank instead. Tues Nov 27 at 3:30pm All Saints church Harworth and Sat 15 dec 2pm at the lovely chapel in Clumber Park. They are free to attend but we hope people will donate money and food at the concerts, and we have set up this page so that Amelias supporters from far and wide do not miss the opportunity to help her help others. We apprechiate all donations large and small please share this and help Amelia reach the target.

Amelia Durdy is 8 years old she is home educated as she struggles in a school environment due to her Autism and PDA ( anxiety led pathological demand avoidance). Amelia is obsessed with music she plays flute, piano, recorders, drums and has recently started composing music. Music is Amelia’s way of communicating with the world, making friends and is her therapy. She loves playing for people and enjoys hearing how her music has made people remember memories. Amelia wants to play music all her life and hopes that it can bring other people as much happiness as she gets from it. Halloween 2017 Amelia had an audition for NCO on cello she was extremely nervous about it so we went out to perform on her flute an instrument she is more experienced on to get confidence playing infront of strangers. She loved it, loved people telling her they enjoyed her music and some people gave her some money . Amelia decided that she would like to buy some food for one of our local foodbanks as we had been discussing how they must eat their dinners the day before as not everyone had plenty of food. Amelia took her donation in and saw the work that foodbank do. That was the start of what we all hope will be Amelia’s life long relationship with foodbank. Obviously she is young and has a busy little life but as a minimum tries to make a monthly donation to foodbank .
