Story
Amelia's school friend William sadly passed away in December 2019 following a short battle with sepsis. William was 6 years old and had battled since birth having been born with a complex disease called Total Intestinal Aganglionosis Hirschsprungs.
When Amelia heard that William's parents had set up a charity she asked if she could raise some money to help and has decided to do a 2 mile sponsored Hack on the horse she rides called Flye and will of course be sporting William’s favourite colour, orange. This will take place on Sunday 22nd March 2020.
The charity is called William's Gift. It will provide care packages to children in hospital with bowel and TPN conditions.
They have 2 types of packages, one for emergency/ unexpected admissions which will include essentials such as toiletries/ snacks etc. The other package is for those who are in hospital long term and will include things to give a little psychological boost such as toys, books, gift vouchers etc.
Initially the charity will be covering the 2 main Children's hospitals in the North West of England, Alder Hey and Manchester.
Amelia welcomes any donation that people may like to make.
