Story

2019 World Scout Jamboree - official website

Having recently been to a selection sleepover for girls all over Dorset, I have been fortunate enough to be one of the lucky few that has been selected to attend the 'once in a life time experience' of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree. This will be taking place at a dedicated scout site, in South Virginia in the USA. Whilst on the trip, we will be participating in a 'Big City' experience in either New York or Washington DC. We will then be travelling to the scouting campsite, where we will be staying with young people of all nationalities. There we will be camping and enjoying the many activities together including white-water rafting, rock climbing, zip-wiring and mountain biking. This is an incredible experience that has only been offered to 64 people from Dorset, all of them are in either Scouts or Guides however it is estimated that over 45,000 young people will be attending from across the globe. I have been set the challenge to raise £3600 in 18 months which will fund my experience and support other scouts and guides from poorer countries to allow them to share the experience. I intend to raise this money through fundraising and donations. I will also be organising other events within my local community and other through other organisations that I attend. Thank you.
