Story

I am 1of 63 chosen to represent England and Devon at the 24th World Scout Jamboree in 2019. Funding helps to transport me from here to West Virginia but also for the internal flights to New York and Washington as outside camp activities. Within the camp I will have the chance to do both land and water based activities such as white water rafting, canoeing, climbing and hiking. The World Scout Jamboree is above all an educational event that brings together the world’s young people to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills. Not all of the funds are for my journey , some are to allow less fortunate scouts from developing countries to go, so they can experience it too.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will feature countries from all over the world but this time there are three hosting countries: America, Canada and Mexico. Over the two weeks I am in America, I get to develop new skills I will use for the rest of my life as well as international friendships I shall cherish forever.
