Story
This is Amie, she has a very rare blood disease, Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA) which is a genetic disorder where the bone marrow fails to produce red blood cells or does not produce them properly.
Amie lives in Horley with her parents, Jo & Gordon. Jo is part of the Lets Explore family so that makes Amie part of our family too.
Amie has come to the treatment path of undergoing a bone marrow transplant which will involve intense chemotherapy before her body will receive the new bone marrow. This process will commence on 27th August 2018.
Amie will be kept isolated in hospital for a long duration but will be necessary for her recovery. Whilst isolated Amie wants to record her journey and keep in touch with her classmates by doing a regular Vlog to send them to watch at school.
So here at Lets Explore we are wanting to help by getting her the tools to do this, such as a Digital Video Camera. We ask if you can help us aswell by donating any spare change you have into our charity boxes which are in our centre.
