Story

Amity in Nottingham is a community organisation bringing people from different traditions together for the past 1 year. We at Amity have been doing all kinds of events to bring people together. Poetry, food and cultural events which have broken the mould of community cohesion events. please have a look at our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/amitynottm/
we want to organise community iftars (breaking of the fast during Ramadan is called an Iftar) . One of the ideas we have is to bring the Caribbean and Muslim together for an Iftar. This would be used as a reason for both communities to learn about and from each and is long overdue.. Both these communities have experiences that are similar and have much in common.
your donations will help us to organise these events in Ramadan. As Muslims we are encouraged to feed others who have been fasting during this month.
The Prophet (saw) said, ‘Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person’. (Tirmidhi)
the money you donate will help us to organise these Iftar events.
thank you for all your support
