Story
On Sunday 1st March, a group of Ammanford AFC members will be taking on a run from Ammanford AFC to Afan Lido to raise money and awareness for mental health. The aim will be to reach Afan Lido by the time their Cymru South game kicks off at 2pm, running approximately 26-30 miles in the process.
Both clubs have sadly experienced first-hand the impact of mental health through the losses of Jac Lewis and Ioan Evans, and this challenge is in their memory while helping to keep conversations going and break the stigma.
Ioan Evans was a much loved Afan Lido FC footballer who tragically passed away at just 25 years old at the beginning of February. A committed and popular team member, he made over 120 appearances for the club after joining from Cardiff Met University, often captaining the side and bringing joy to teammates, officials, and supporters alike. His loss has deeply affected the Welsh football community, and he is remembered for his passion on the pitch and kindness off it
Funds raised will be split between the Jac Lewis Foundation and a charity chosen by Ioan’s family. Every donation, big or small, will help make a difference—thank you for your support.
