Story

Ammar Mustapha was born into a family, whose grandparents were part of the mass Palestinian Exodus in 1948 fearing for their lives from Israeli settler death squads and fled to Southern Lebanon, where today there are nearly 600,000 Palestinians living in United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) camps in very low standards of living, with very little rights or potential to integrate into their host country.

Ammar's family ended up in Syria in another refugee camp, where his dad, a trained electrician, had found some work and stability, but as the war broke out in Syria, they were displaced again and ended up back in Southern Lebanon, where his grandparents fled to many years back. All along his displaced early life, Ammar maintained top marks in school and was focused on excelling at the UNRWA schools he was in. In the Burg al-Shamali Camp in Southern Lebanon, now in High School, Ammar was interviewed by the UK based COGITO Scholarship Foundation http://www.cogitoscholar.org and awarded an incredible opportunity to leave Lebanon and go to finish the last two years of his High School at the elite Eton College, just outside of London! https://www.etoncollege.com

Ammar not only adjusted to a totally new & challenging environment, away from home and family, he excelled in his coursework and graduated with distinction! Along the way he also got into photography and fell in love with the game of tennis!

Today, Ammar is at Bath University, thanks to the material support of many people out there, like you, who appreciate his incredible story of overcoming... He just completed his second of his four year Master's of Civil Engineering with flying colours. We want to raise the funds to pay for his tuition and housing for his third year, which totals £30,000. Dana and I will donate £5,000 to start off... Please join us in supporting this amazing young man further his higher education, so he can set a great example to his friends and family back home and give many young boys like him still there hope too!
