This is dedicated in loving memory of our beloved friend and sister Mariama, who lived courageously with Lupus and inspired everyone around her through her patience, faith and resilience. Though Allah has called her back to Him, her character, compassion and strength continue to inspire us. We pray that Allah envelops her in His mercy, forgives her sins, and grants her the highest ranks of Jannah. Ameen ya Rabb.

In remembrance of her beautiful soul, we are raising funds to contribute towards Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) projects in her name, so that her legacy of goodness continues to benefit others and her reward continues to grow, by the mercy of Allah.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that brings unpredictable pain, fatigue and life-altering challenges. Mariama faced these hardships with remarkable dignity, humour, faith, and strength — and those who knew her will always remember her kindness, warmth and trust in Allah. We pray Allah rewards her for every moment of sabr and grants her eternal ease and light.

As Muslims, we believe that when we give for the sake of Allah, the reward continues even after we leave this world. Through these projects, we hope to bring benefit to others while honouring Mariama’s life and the goodness she embodied.

We will be working with Ummah Welfare Trust, a UK-registered international relief and development charity established in 2001. Guided by Islamic principles of compassion, dignity and accountability, UWT supports some of the world’s most vulnerable communities by providing food, shelter, education, medical care and sustainable aid. They operate with transparency, ensuring funds reach those most in need, and all projects are carried out in accordance with Islamic values.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” And “When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”

Through this initiative, we pray to spread khayr (goodness) and relief to others while honouring Mariama’s memory. Every donation big or small is an act of sadaqah with ongoing reward, insha’Allah .

May Allah place immense barakah in your contributions, reward you for your generosity, and grant Mariama Noor in her grave, forgiveness, peace and the highest ranks of Jannah. Ameen ya Rabb.
