I've raised £500 to continue supporting Amos and his family in Kabale, Uganda.

Over the last 4 years donations from you, my family, friends and acquaintances, have made a massive difference to Amos and his family. To date the roof on their house has been replaced, an outdoor toilet (with walls and a roof) and a covered cooking area have been built and urgent repairs to make the house last a little longer carried out.
Last year we purchased beds, mattresses and blankets (the first 'real bed' Amos has ever had), furniture (the first chair Amos' mother has owned in her life), school equipment and a solar powered light for the house. Following our return I received an email from Amos via Child Africa describing reading his school books in bed by light as "feeling like a king in the big city".
This year I would like to be a little more ambitious and, if I can raise £500, pay for the house to be rebuilt. Currently it is expected to last another year or one big rainy season before it is too dangerous to live in. The recently replaced roof will all be reused. (I was quoted £400 last year so £500 will ensure any unexpected expenses are also covered).
A complete rebuild for £500... No fear of being homeless for £500...
So once again I appear on your phones and laptops with cap in hand asking for any donations you can spare. If I meet the target, fantastic. If not repair work will be prioritised to ensure the house will last for a little longer. But whether it's £1 or £50 every penny will be well spent and accounted for. It has now become a standing joke with Michael, the charity co-ordinator that I insist on receipts for every last item so that I can guarantee your kind donations go as far as possible.
Thank you once again,
Mark
P.S: Amos hasn't grown loads since last year, he was in a lesson when we purchased things last year so his sister joined us instead.
