Story
I'd like everyone to take a few minutes out there day to read this, to look how easy life is for them. To be able to walk talk be able to wash shower change and clothe themself and have there independence. Everyone deserves that right? Well for one man this all changed 5 years ago. Once a hard working healthy independent family man that would help anyone he could, this was all stripped away from him after suffering one of the worse possible strokes a brain stem stroke, his wife and family was all told to say there goodbyes and plan for his funeral but the fighter he was and still is beat all odds. Proved everyone wrong.. He was left unable to move talk or walk. stripped of everything he once could do.. Gray was transferred to Tickhill rehab centre in Doncaster where I met him.. I myself had a stroke and saw his biggest battles begin.. the pain the agony and stress never stopped him trying to reach goals that were set.. They hit a brick wall when the rehab discharged him as there was nothing more they could help with.. While at home his life was a whirlwind trying to adjust with his wife and 2 young children daily struggles are very much nearly impossible, his wife Caroline is the only source of income other then disability payments.. gray has carers that have the battle with him getting him up and doing all the things that he could once do.. Grays health took a turn last October and his condition deteriated and was left needing oxygen full time and needing a suction tube due to choking on his food.. he is no longer able to shower on his chair as he cannot get past the the step to the shower.. So I want to give back by raising money to have gray a wet room put in, for me and his family to see his face when he can see how many people out there care enough to give him the chance to do something so simple as to shower would be like winning the lottery for us most of all him so please donate big or small it will make a differce thank you for reading grays story xx
