Story

In Loving Memory of Joe Thompson

On the 17th of April 2025, our beautiful, brave Joey passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family .. exactly where he wanted to be. After facing cancer with an almost unimaginable strength, dignity, and determination for the third time, Joe took his final breath in the most peaceful setting, completely wrapped in love.

Joe wasn’t just a husband, a dad, a son, a brother, or a friend ... he was Joe. A light in this world. The kind of soul who left a lasting imprint on everyone he met. His presence was magnetic, his energy infectious, and his love so steady and strong. He leaves behind his soulmate Chantelle and their two beautiful girls, Lula and Athena , who will continue to carry his light, his love, and his incredible spirit. And now, he’s finally reunited with their precious boy Dre.

Joe lived life his own way, full of heart, full of courage, full of love. Even in the hardest moments, he kept dreaming, kept planning, and kept showing up for the people he loved. He inspired so many of us just by being who he was.

I’ve set up this fundraiser on behalf of the Thompson family because, as one of Joe’s closest friends, I’ve seen first-hand how deeply this has impacted them - emotionally and financially. The last few years have brought enormous strain with all of Joe’s treatments, and I know that easing even a little of that burden right now would mean the world to Chan and the girls. I've set the target for 5k but left it open as I can imagine many people will want to donate.

With so many people expected at Joe’s funeral, we kindly ask that instead of flowers - which, without a burial, will sadly go to waste, you consider donating instead. It’s a small way we can all come together, rally as Joe’s Army, and honour him by taking care of the girls he adored more than anything in this world.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, your support, your generosity.

Joe’s legacy is woven into every one of us lucky enough to have known him.

Long may his spirit live on.

With love,

Amy
