Story
I will be returning to South Africa this summer on a mission trip with my church, Kintore Community Church and its sister church Hillview Community Church. We will be going to Cape Town to an area called Masiphumele where an organisation called All Nations work within the community through church plants, after school clubs, lunch time clubs and community support and leadership training. One of their visions is to equip local men and women to rise up as local leaders.
We will be supporting a childrens ministry called Isithembiso which means Children of Hope. Isithembiso supports the local children in both practical and spiritual ways. They help with the challenges of every day life as many of these children are living in child headed households. They can come and be kids and have fun at Isithembiso whilst receiving additional life support help.
Once a year the All Nations team take all of these children away on a summer camp to give them a break from their daily lives in the township and it’s this camp we will be helping on. The camp provides respite for the kids from the burdens of every day life, whilst giving them three full meals a day and a safe place to share their fears and troubles. Kintore and Hillview support a couple called Liam and Rachel Byrnes who are from Aberdeen and have been working out in Masiphumele for a number of years now and we will be working alongside them.
We are fundraising the costs of the trip as a team of 8 and thankfully have already fundraised a good amount of money and our target is to now raise £750 each. I have managed to fundraise £250 myself so far which leaves £500. Anything you feel you can give to help me reach my target would be amazing! Anything above my target of £500 will be given as a direct donation to All Nations
