I'm raising £5000 to Running for Lillie & Sidney – Helping Two Incredible Children Keep Moving

Story

“Every child deserves the chance to move, grow and thrive — but for children with physical disabilities, that chance often depends on access to specialist therapy.”

I’m raising money to support our dear friends Lillie and Sidney as they continue their journeys with physical disabilities and the therapies they rely on.

After the success of our much-loved fundraiser “Get Lilia Movin’”, which helped Lilia access life-changing therapy, we felt inspired to do more. The support from our incredible community made such a difference to Lilia’s life, and now we want to pass that kindness on by launching “Get Kids Movin’.”

Because of the therapy Lilia received, she can now sit unaided, swim, and has even had the chance to ski at an indoor centre. Despite living with severe cerebral palsy following a birth injury, her body is strong and she continues to achieve things we once only dreamed of. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of others.

When you discover your child has a physical disability, it’s heartbreaking. Finding a way to fund the therapy, equipment, and support they need can feel overwhelming for any family. That’s why we want to help.

All funds raised from this fundraiser will go directly to Lillie and Sidney (50/50) to support their ongoing therapy.

Lillie has cerebral palsy and took her first independent steps last year at the age of 15 during an intensive therapy week. She’s one of Lilia’s close friends and has worked incredibly hard to achieve what she has. She deserves every opportunity to keep building on those amazing skills.

Sidney is the most gorgeous, funny five-year-old who was born with SMA. We first met during a therapy week a few years ago and have been family friends ever since. Sidney needs regular therapy to help maintain his strength, independence, and overall wellbeing.

These two children face challenges most of us can’t imagine, and we would love to support them in continuing to grow, move, and thrive.

To raise money, my sister Laura, my brother-in-law Matt, and I will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 29th March. Training hasn’t been easy for me, so simply finishing will be a huge challenge. When the miles get tough, I’ll be thinking about children like Lillie and Sidney and the determination they show every single day.

If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world. And if you can share this fundraiser, that helps just as much.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can give.
