Dylan and I have decided to run the Cardiff 10k (Amy) and the Cardiff half marathon (Dylan) to try and raise some money to help fund an electric bike for Heidi's wheelchair.

Heidi began to have difficulty walking shortly after her daughter, Esmee was born and was originally diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, the condition has progressed and questions remain over her diagnosis, which was then changed to Neurolmyelitis Optica (NMO). Still between disagnosis', one things is clear; that this has had a huge effect on her mobility and independence.

Being the wonderfully independent woman that she is, Heidi finds it difficult relying on others to push her in her wheelchair. The electric handbike is a motorised device that can be added on to the front of a wheelchair that would give Heidi the independence to do the things that we take for granted, like taking her dog for a walk, going shopping and going for a 'stroll' with her family on a sunny day.
