£2,180raised of £500 target by 93 supporters

Weʼve raised £2,180 to help fund as much as we can towards the cost of an electric bike (that start from £2000) for Heidi's wheelchair

    Church Village, United Kingdom
Funded on Saturday, 7th October 2017

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Dylan and I have decided to run the Cardiff 10k (Amy) and the Cardiff half marathon (Dylan) to try and raise some money to help fund an electric bike for Heidi's wheelchair.

Heidi began to have difficulty walking shortly after her daughter, Esmee was born and was originally diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Since then, the condition has progressed and questions remain over her diagnosis, which was then changed to Neurolmyelitis Optica (NMO). Still between disagnosis', one things is clear; that this has had a huge effect on her mobility and independence.

Being the wonderfully independent woman that she is, Heidi finds it difficult relying on others to push her in her wheelchair. The electric handbike is a motorised device that can be added on to the front of a wheelchair that would give Heidi the independence to do the things that we take for granted, like taking her dog for a walk, going shopping and going for a 'stroll' with her family on a sunny day.

Any amount that you can contribute will be much appreciated.

A little over 4 weeks ago we set up this page in the hope of raising £200 initially...and have actually raised £1,750 plus around another £1,000 through The Bush pub and direct donations. This is down to every person who donated; it goes to show what difference we make when we pull together. We want to say a HUGE 'thank you' from the bottom of our hearts to you all for making the dream of an electric bike become a reality❤️. I (Amy) am running my first, and more than likely last, 10k in the morning and your kindness will keep me going xxx

Thank you all so much for your donations! We are about half way to being able to buy an electric bike in less that 12 hours. Both Heidi and ourselves are overwhelmed and overjoyed. Dyl and I are currently sat in Cardiff airport on our way to Zante...with our running shoes in our bags! Thank you again/diolch o galon xxx

You will absolutely love it... there will be plenty of high fives, from all the spectators along the way, and a big cwtch off Mary Poppins at the finish line..
